Poetry in the Wild
A busy few days again at the Vinery. In addition to everyone working away in the bothy and the glasshouse, popping by for a coffee and a chat, or going on the fitness walk, we had the second of four Summer Fun Thursdays. After going out to pick a few flowers for the wellbeing room where we did our crafts and had our healthy snack, we decided that the rain was no bother and we headed for the beach. It turns out that rain wouldn’t have mattered either way as everyone got soaked having a good paddle in the sea. The day was completed with sandcastle building. We’d recommend you bring waterproofs and wellies if you plan on joining us next time!
The weather made a total 180 degrees turn the following day: we made the most of the summery weather with an impromptu poetry reading in the gardens. We read from David Whyte’s Essentials after gathering to eat our lunch picnic style.
We also had a wonderful fitness walk to Duff House followed by some gentle stretching and yoga on the grass.
On the back of this we thought - wouldn’t it be great to have regular poetry readings? And so ‘Poetry in the Wild’ was born. The first ‘Poetry in the Wild’ session will be on at the Vinery on the 9th of August. Please check back for the time.
In other news today, we had a jam-packed art group and the glasshouse is in full summer swing. The craft group is open to the public and the glasshouse is always free for a potter around and an explore, so pop in for a cuppa and a chat, everyone is welcome.
